Animal Stars: Braided collars

Okay so technically Animal Stars appears to be a totally vanilla company but they make a fantastic range of really beautiful braided collars, both flat and round, in customisable colours for comparatively reasonable prices (although they are based in the US so anyone outside of there may get stung for shipping).  Well worth a look if you like leather and fancy something more than just plain black.

Rivit Head: All the spikes and chains

Rivit Head have a whole range of collars available, and I'm not really going to point any out in particular as I'm more pointing out style of them, these are almost archetypal bondage collars - a whole line up of severe black leather covered in studs, rings, studs and lots of hanging chain :)  If you like your collars on the industrial/goth end of things then you may well like looking at these.

Actually in particular their 71C Leather Choker is quite an interesting design, a 2 layer leather collar the outer layer holds not just several O's all along its length, but  bunches of 3 O-rings at a time, really rather beautiful.

Decadent Transitions: Industrial Gothic Collar

Decadent Transitions is a company that seems to mostly concentrate on making really, really fantastic looking floggers (ahem) anyway, thats for another time, what caught my eye was also their interesting line of collars, including their Industrial Gothic Collar which is a segmented afair, sections of leather linking a whole long series of D-rings, giving the whole thing an interesting appearance and also about a million attachment points :)

Chained Desires: Celtic Knot and Pride Collars

Chained Desires do a number of leather bondage collars, among them are a couple of really interesting designs.  These include Collars with celtic knotwork over the throat and also one with cute gay pride flag colours on.

Black Market Chicago: Religious Collars

Well a good example of an interesting an unusual collar is this crucifix themed contoured collar, from Black Market Chicago.  They do a whole range of reasonably standard collars that look like nicely made leather work but some of the stuff they do is really rather interesting, in addition to the one above they also do similar shaped ones for medical play and also this rather cute soft leather day collar with a rose on.

Chainmail & More: Snake and Dual-braid half-round collars

Okay so Chainmail & More do a whole bunch of chainmail stuff, however what attracted me was the sheer sturdyness of how things looked.  They do two principal collars, the thicker and more substantial  Snake Slave Collar, a tightly woven weave of metal (with one edge flattened fractionally to rest against the neck) and also the lighter, and elegant, but still really robust looking Dual braid half round collar, which the example version of comes in an attracted bronze/bright mix of rings.

Bear's Leather

Okay so Bear's Leather is a site that specialises in producing really nice handcrafted leather, either in stock designs or apparently custom stuff.  They include a rather fine selection of collars including some awesome BDSM Collars with dropped O's at the front as well as some frankly beautiful and robust looking small posture collars / thick contoured collars as well as more emphasised V-shaped contours going to buckles V-shaped contours going to buckles .

They also do some really interesting stuff that caught my eye.  Wear a day-to-day turian collar and want a more substantially thick leather collar for play?  Well here's a first, a leather collar designed to clip to one.  Oh and all their stuff comes with locking roller buckles as well for keeping them on.

JSWMetalWorks - Infinity Chainmail Collar

Oh wow, over on Etsy I've just seen an awesome collar.  The Infinity Collar from JSW Metal Works.  Just the sheer closeness of it, the way it hugs the neck with a tight metal weave is quite nice looking.  But what really makes it is the the infinity symbol that rests over the throat, giving two light attachments points and also a really nice looking bit of symbology :)

Kittens Toy Room: Adjustable Posture Collar

Okay, from Kitten's Toy Room (who make a variety of reasonable looking leather buckle collars) I found this really rather interesting thing.  An Adjustable Posture Collar.  Yup, thats right, its slightly industrial/medical looking but that works for some people :)  By all accounts it has 4 settings to give a variety of strictness to neck posture, 4" to 6" apparently.  Not sure its that much my bag but really, I've never seen anything like it.

Tribal Hollywood: Barcode

Okay so Tribal Hollywood stock a reasonable number of more robust looking chains in styles that more masculine types may find attractive, mostly made from silver and look like they'd work for being day Collars.

However one thing that caught my eye in particular was their Barcode Necklace, a black rubber coated length of something (steel wire I'm guessing) with a series of beads at the front in stainless steel to give the effect of creating a barcode.

A really nice idea I think, while the item itself looks awesome it more got me wondering about subtle ways to encode information like SLRNs in barcodes like this to make them available and in plain sight, but hidden.

Sincerely Yours Gifts: Bow tie choker

Okay so perhaps it wasn't intended as a collar, but I found a place on artfire called  Sincerely Yours Gifts who do a few things (including leather cuffs) but what caught my eye was this classy object, a bow-tie choker which I think would make an excellent, unusual and rather dapper day collar :)

BDbySM Daily Wear

BDbySM do a whole range of custom made collars, mostly from silver as far as I can tell, what really attracted me to this was the subtle nature of the Affirmation collars, a series of silver rings that can be inscribed with any words you want, its not a robust play collar but a rather classy looking day-wear Collar.

Steel Collar Review from faete31

Okay as a quick break from the endless postings of nice collars I thought I'd link to this interesting youtube video in which someone who wears a solid steel turian style collar constantly:  Steel Collar Review.  This is posted by faete31 who appears to be mainly based out of The Sub Mission

Kohinoor Jewellery

Over on Etsy again Kohinoor Jewellery do a very nice http://www.etsy.com/listing/82375140/sterling-silver-byzantine-inspired-weave">Byzantine weave necklace in sterling silver with a dangling pendant that while intended for purely vanilla applications as far as I can tell could make a very nice day collar.  Due to the denseness of the  weave it gives a good appearance of being solid whilst also being flexible looking, suitable for any top to hook their finger through and give a tug on :)

Elegant Collars

Elegant Collars is a site designed for custom woven chainmail day collars, and some of the stuff there is just fantastically shiny and neat and ordered (okay, its elegant, I can't resist it).  I was initially attracted by seeing the Infinity Collar a series of large O's connected by chainmail bundles, all nicely interlocking, really should be seen to be believed.  Additionally to this they also do designs inspired by mobius strips called the Mobius Chain which is a particularly nice weave.  On the less shiny and neck covering front they also do some neat anklets, I particularly liked their triskelion anklet, which seems subtle, functional and suitable for attaching bells to (I'll admit I have a fondness for jingling).

Absolute Devotion

An interesting collar maker from Etsy is Absolute Devotion.  They make a whole series of fabric collars featuring heavy amounts of lace and brocade as well as D&O and Post-O front rings.  The sort of thing that really attracted me includes contour collars, high posture collars with corset backs and more traditional BDSM back buckle style collars with padlock closure.

Custom Metal Collars of Furaffinity

There's a chainmail collar maker operating out of Furaffinity called just simply Custom Metal Collars.  They seem to make all kinds of awesome stuff, from almost dragon like scalesweaves with D-rings and weaves with LED cables strung through them which are really quite awesome :)

MisfitLeather's heavy collar

I saw This heavy duty collar from MisfitLeather on Etsy and thought I should repost it.  Its a good wide thing that looks solid, just coated in rings.  With a big O at the front and pairs of D's on each side to make a total of 5 attachment points, all in a lovely red and brass.

MelonLove's Chainmaille

There's an excellent seller of chainmaille collars on Etsy called Melon Love who makes all kinds of weaves of both collars and cuffs, they're happy to make custom stuff in terms of patterns and sizes.  I've obtained a rainbow cuff from them and they gave an excellent and speedy service.  Mostly I was attracted to them because of their awesome Rainbow Collars which the world needs more of.
